Shaklee could very well be one of the oldest network marketing companies in the world today. The company was founded in 1956 by Dr. Forrest C. Shaklee and that is old enough. However, the vision behind its origin goes much beyond that. It was as far back as in 1915 that Dr. Shaklee developed his vitalized minerals which form the base of the wellness products that the company dominates in today.

The Products

One of the most important reasons that Shaklee is a huge success today is that the founder could think way ahead in the future. In the 50s, organic products were not in much boom. Those were definitely not the biggest days for the company, but today with the great demand for organic products, the company is only going from strength to strength. The products of the company include various herbal products that are completely safe to use and effective. These are a host of nutritional supplements, weight management products and various products that can be incorporated into the daily family diet to provide everyone with better diet. The premier products are Cinch and Vitalizer.

Show Me the Money

Another reason that made Shaklee survive for more than half a century is the fact that it has promoted its products through the Multi Level Marketing concept, which was again future-thinking on part of the founder. The concept has not changed much with the decades. There are two main arms of earning as in most other MLM opportunities. These are direct selling and networking commissions.

The direct selling earnings are those that are obtained by directly selling the products to people and receiving commissions on the number of products sold. This is good income for people who have a good selling talent. But at the same time, people will also involve themselves in building networks of marketers under them who will also sell the product to others and grow the network. For each member recruited, there are commissions earned by the sponsors.

How to Become a Member

Becoming a Shaklee member or sponsor here is very simple. You only have to pay an amount of $9 to become a consultant and start your business with Shaklee. Then, as you grow the network, for each member that you bring in, you get $7. Considering what other MLM opportunities are paying today, this $7 seems too paltry and that is one of the reasons why this opportunity is difficult for people who are just starting out or those who are planning to take Shaklee as their only MLM opportunity. They will need 200 members to have an income of $1,000 a month, which is difficult. However, for the product itself and the reputation that the business has, Shaklee is still a favored option by several network marketers.

The Marketing Plan

Being able to generate leads is very important if you plan on building a successful network marketing company.  So in order to get leads, you have to have effective lead generation tools in place to capture leads that may come to your website.

The Product

The Marketing Training

The product that the 4Life marketing sells is quite strong and has a good customer base. However, it is not strong as an MLM business, especially if the person is just starting out with multilevel marketing. The concept requires people to go out and pitch their marketing concepts, which might also include door-to-door selling, cold calling, and pitching your opportunity to family and friends. Thus, it is not exactly appealing to most people looking for a work at home business. But for people who are looking for an opportunity to make some money selling a product that sells easily, 4Life can merit some consideration.

A funded proposal is a concept based on charging your prospects a low-priced product or service on the front end to cover your advertising and marketing expenses, and then back-ending the real product or opportunity.

Offering a useful product on the front end, not only allows you to stay in the game longer, but it also generates attraction between you and your leads.  People only do business with those who they feel are a leader.  If you are the first one to teach your prospects a particular concept, you will become the expert in their eyes. 

Most small businesses fund their business with loans and grants, however most MLM’ers try to fund their business with cash out of their own pockets.   Most people run of money before they go into profit.  This is why offering a funded proposal on the front end is smart way to build your business.

Contrary to popular belief, if you do not possess certain qualities, it doesn’t matter if you are trying to build your mlm online or offline, you will find prospecting difficult.  One of the most important aspects to possess is posture, if you have absolute no posture, your leads will run all over you. 

People are not looking for someone to dominate.  They are looking for a leader.  We see this in relationships all the time.  Most females are not attracted to men who they view as weak, most females wants a strong male who knows how to take charge.  In this article I am going to go over three tips to having prospecting success.

Get Invited

There is nothing more annoying than getting spam from people when we didn’t request information from.  There is a wave of information flowing into your leads head from all directions.  As network marketers, we are always getting spam.  Especially if people view you as a leader, they will spam you to death because the need the sell.

Chances are that if you have an mlm, 95% of network marketers have heard of it too.  So by pitching your business to people who didn’t request information, you are doing nothing but annoying people and ruining any other future business relationships.

So if you want to sell something, you have to find a way to get invited into their world, making it their idea.  Remember people hate being sold, but they love to buy. 

Generate Attraction

Now that your prospects have contacted you by filling out your lead capture form, the next step is to generate attraction.  Now if your prospects only leave their email address, you must generate attraction through your autoresponder.

Now people are smart these days, they can tell when you are actually sending the messages and they can tell when you have a follow up series directly sent to them.  As network marketers it is best to use a follow up campaign that is automatically sent.  However you do want to broadcast other messages to them.

For example send them to your blog and let them know of any exciting events that happen in your life such as birthdays, weddings, etc.  You always have to find a way to make your prospects want to stay on your list.  If you are only using an automatic follow up series; your prospects will either unsubscribe or will not read your messages at all.

If your leads leave their phone number, pick up the phone and call them.  These are warm leads who requested information from you and there is no reason to fear talking to them.

Effective Follow Up

Now depending on the personality types, some leads will not buy from you right away.  Some people will not buy even after the initial phone call.  That is why it is imperative that you send your information to people who have said yes I want more information and have an effective follow up campaign in place.

If your prospects don’t sign up right away, if you follow this formula correct, your prospects will get effective follow up emails sent to them.

Now I don’t call my leads more than once.  I leave a voice message if they don’t answer when I first call them.  I don’t want to appear desperate to my leads.  It is all about having posture and living in a state of abundance.
